Happy Valentine's Day! - February 14, 2011
Today, we are having a special Valentine's Day. Nana is visiting and she decorated the table with heart lights and special plates and napkins. Our son helped her find all of the bowls, spoons, and measuring cups so they could make pink heart shaped pancakes. Our daughter gave lots of Valentine's Day smiles and giggles. It is a beautiful sunny day and so after breakfast Nana and our son went for a bike ride to the park. Later today Mommy and Daddy get to go out to dinner. You can't ask for a better Valentine's Day.

Full Sentences - February 6, 2011
I'm still amazed how much my babies change each and every day. It still amazes me when my 2 1/2 year old talks in full sentences that I can understand. Like today, "Mommy, I'm going to put the spider man box away, ok?" I still can't understand everything but it is fun when I do.

Pancake Fries - February 4, 2011
Tonight as a special treat I asked my son if he wanted baked chicken nuggets and fries. He said, yes "pancake fries." He remembered last week we had special fries (waffle fries) and remembered it had a breakfast name in front of it and so he asked for some "pancake fries."

Good Morning Laugh - February 2, 2011
I haven't gotten much sleep lately, not due to our 3 month old but due to my own fault for going to bed much too late; so when I went into my daughter's room this morning and she was so excited to see me that she gave a giggle, I forgot about how tired I really was.

Running in House - January 31, 2011
Today our 2 1/2 year old was excited to see his friends from our old neighborhood. He had a blast playing with everyone. I think his favorite part was not playing with his toys but when all of the kids simply ran from one end of the house to the other. The kids had fun chasing each other down the hallway.

Sister Laughing at Brother - January 28, 2011 (2 1/2 Years; 3 Months)
I love watching my 2 1/2 year old and my 3 month old interact. My son loves making his sister laugh. Please click here to watch a video of my son releasing some of his energy and making his baby sister laugh.

Leaf Hunt - November 8, 2010 (2 Years 5 Months)
Today I tried to take my son on a leaf hunt. Daddy promised him the night before I would. I think he was slightly confused what a leaf hunt was since he wanted to get the leaves from the trees rather than pick up the leaves from the ground. Please see the pictures of him, 1st one was him waiting for the leaves to fall and the second one was him trying to shake the tree. Our leaf hunt didn't last very long since my preschooler got upset when we went a different direction than he wanted to walk and since it was nearing nap time and he was starting to have a meltdown, we headed home. I hope to do another leaf hunt soon.

Hello Baby Girl - November 4, 2010 (3 Weeks)
Our baby girl turned 3 weeks this week. She is definitely more alert this week. She has been such a pleasant baby but I forgot how much babies sleep at first. As much as we love the E.A.S.Y. schedule for the first few weeks it seemed more like Eat, Sleep, Eat, Sleep rather than Eat, Activity, Sleep. This week I'm enjoying looking into her beautiful eyes as she is much more interested in her world. She is definitely the most alert once Daddy comes home. She enjoys listening to Daddy talk and she loves watching her brother be silly.

Preschool Mornings - November 3, 2010 (2 Years 5 Months)
Usually it is quite a rush to get ready in the morning for preschool especially since we live a good 30 minutes from the school until we move to our new home. Today was a good day as my son cooperated in the morning which doesn't always occur. Not only did he go to the bathroom on the potty, wash his hands but then he helped get his breakfast out of the refrigerator, pancakes, syrup, jelly, and juice. We actually made it on time to school. Let's hope for more mornings like this.

Thumbs Up - November 2, 2010 (2 Years 5 Months)
One of my son's new favorite things the past month is to give the "Thumbs Up" sign. He especially does it when we tell him what a good big brother he is, he'll turn to us, smile and give the "Thumbs Up." Even though we have had a few minor close calls between him and his sister, such as accidentally hitting her head with a heavy book when he was trying to put the book in Mommy's lap overall he is an excellent big brother. Today, when she was upset as she was hungry and Mommy was trying to get things ready before feeding her, he went over and helped hold the pacifier in her mouth. He also went and got her a blanket as his two favorite things are his pacifier and his blanket.

Fall Day - October 30, 2010 (2 Years 5 Months & 2 Weeks)
We decided to go as a family to a local farm that had fall activities. Our son had a wonderful time pretended to milk a cow, filling a bucket up with corn, playing on a train, going on a hay ride, and going down big field slides. His baby sister behaved very well and allowed us to stay out longer than we expected on a cool fall day.
