Elmo in Grouchland - March 1, 2010 (21 Months)
After a long day of travel yesterday we had another day where we had to do a long road trip and so we played The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland while in the car. Thank you Elmo, for making the trip enjoyable for everyone.

Airplane Greeter - February 28, 2010 (21 Months)
Today was a long day of travel on flights from Montana back home. But what I'll remember about the day was when we were on the plane waiting for everyone to board and our son started saying "hi" and "bye" to every person that walked by our seat. You could tell at first people were taken by surprise but most people smiled and continued to their seat. I think he helped spread good cheer to people on the plane.

Being Chased - February 27, 2010(21 Months)
When I went to pick up my son at the ski daycare he was running around the room being chased by one of the teachers. No wonder he loves going to "school" so much he loves all of the attention.

Skiing - February 26, 2010 (21 Months)
We figured it was a little early to teach our son how to ski but we were taking the day off skiing ourselves so we decided to test him out on the baby hill. By the time we got all of the equipment our son had enough and didn't want to go down the hill. He did think it was really fun riding up the motorized ramp and then running down the hill. We did that several times. I think he would have done that for hours but Mommy didn't want to take advantage of using the hill since we weren't actually skiing (even though the instructor said it was fine.) Maybe next year he'll go down the hill on skis.

Early Bedtime - February 25, 2010 (21 Months)
We put our son to bed early 6:30PM, although since it technically was 8:30PM his normal time, it really wasn't early at all and Mommy and Daddy went out for a nice dinner. Daideo was ready to have a tv marathon with our son in case he woke up and wouldn't go back to bed but our son was still sound asleep when Mommy and Daddy got home. (Dinner was excellent: we sat on top of a snowcat while it took us up the mountain where we ate dinner family style in a yurt. The food was excellent beef tenderloin, mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, and chocolate fondue for dessert. A wonderful experience! Thanks Daideo for watching our son.)

Dog Sledding- February 24, 2010 (21 Months)
Today Mommy and Daddy went dog sledding. Mommy's favorite part was on the return trip when Daddy got to drive the dogs. Our son had fun playing with Daideo (watching cartoons) while we were out.

I Love School - February 23, 2010 (21 Months)
I wasn't able to finish filling out the paperwork for my son to drop him off of the ski daycare ("school") before he ran off to play with the other kids. It definitely makes it easy when he happily goes off to play. When we got back to the condo we had fun making pretend meals. So far we are doing pretty well with absolutely no toys (except two cars) and just playing with miscellaneous items. Not surprising since the majority of the things he plays with at home usually is just simple household items.

4:30AM Wake-up - February 22, 2010 (21 Months)
Last night, bed time was extremely late 10PM (really 12AM our normal time) but like usual our son was up at his recent wake-up time of 6:30AM which means 4:30AM Montana time. Confirms once again for our son going to bed late does not make him sleep late. We hope to get him back on a modified schedule today.

Flying to Montana - February 21, 2010 (21 Months)
We were really lucky and had an excellent flight experience on both of the plane flights on our way to Montana today. The first leg we had an extra seat between us so our son could sit there, although he still sat on our laps occasionally. We had fun coloring in the new Sesame Street coloring book. I was impressed as it seemed that our son was doing a pretty good job coloring in the lines. Mommy found it very relaxing to color a picture. We didn't put on a DVD until about 30 minutes left which probably wasn't a good idea since you have to turn off electronics when the plane is getting ready to descend. That was the only time our son got upset was when we had to turn off the DVD...and then when he hit his head on the arm rest.

On the second leg, our son was entertained by the other little kids, particularly a little girl close to his age for the majority of the flight. Once again, we did bring out the secret weapon (DVD player) and played Elmo in Grouchland for the last hour of the flight. All in all we were extremely happy with the entire long day of traveling to Montana.

Shopping with Daddy - February 20, 2010 (21 Months)
I'm not sure why but some how our son will shop for hours on end with Daddy, I'm not exaggerating over four hours but Mommy has trouble getting through one shopping trip to Whole Foods before our son is ready to go home. I guess it is special bonding time with Daddy.

Dancing with Friends - February 19, 2010 (21 Months)
Today at our play date with two other boys 21 months the favorite game was playing music on the keyboard and showing the moms their great dance moves.

Sign Language - February 18, 2010 (21 Months)
Mommy and Daddy need to learn more sign language. Our son is learning more and more words each day but he also seems to enjoy doing the sign language along with saying the words, especially for book and cereal. Other favorites are milk, more and eat. If only Mommy and Daddy could learn more sign language we may be able to communicate better.
