No Parachute! - February 17, 2010 (21 Months)
Today in our Fun Fit Tots class once again my son was having a blast participating in all of the songs until it was time to get the parachute. He ran for the door soon as the teacher got it out. I think he was traumatized the first time when she put all these wonderful colorful balls on it to play with but only for 2 seconds and then the kids had to sit down and not play with the balls. My son didn't want to sit and thus he wasn't allowed to stay on the parachute and ever since when she gets the parachute out he gets upset and tries to leave the room. Today, he was actually successful and opened the door and left. Fortunately he recovered for the end and did have fun going under the parachute (just not on top). P.S. In reference to yesterday he did perform most of the motions for the songs in class (not all of the ones he does at home) but I was very proud of him.

Practice for Class - February 16, 2010 (21 Months)
We told our son tonight that we will be going back to class tomorrow (it's been cancelled due to the snow) and so after him and Daddy were finished reading bedtime stories he started singing the songs for class and doing the motions. He practiced "Hello...Hello" and "Head Shoulders Knees and Toes, Knees and Toes." I'll be interested to see if he actually performs during class time.

Garbage Truck - February 15, 2010 (21 Months)
I think my son's favorite part of today was after dinner going outside in all of our snow gear (since it snowed again) and not playing in the snow but watching the garbage truck come around our neighborhood and pick up our trash.

Miso Soup - February 14, 2010 (20 Months)
Tonight we got take-out at Whole Foods (since it was Valentine's Day) and we didn't feel like cooking. The only problem was we only got two bowls of miso soup. Who knew a 20 month year old would drink Daddy's entire bowl of soup?

Happy Valentine's Day - February 13, 2010 (20 Months)
We celebrated Valentine's Day today since the gym offered Parent's Night Out. Daddy and Mommy had a wonderful night...first doing a quick dinner (barbecue ribs and chicken salad were excellent) and then seeing Valentine's Day (which was a great movie especially on Valentine's Day) and then back to the restaurant for a dessert. :) Normally, we'd like to go to a fancy dinner but we really wanted to see a movie since that is something we don't do often and it was easiest to eat in the same location of the theatre (and gym daycare).

The evening ending perfectly when we went to pick our son up four hours later and he was still having a blast. He threw the ball toward us so we could play with him. He was one of the only kids not in pajamas yet. They probably didn't want to disturb him since he was still having so much fun playing. It was a very late night for everyone (not getting to bed until almost 11PM) but a very enjoyable one.

Pedaled on Tricycle - February 12, 2010 (20 Months)
My son was sitting on his tricycle and I said move your feet, he did and the look on his face when the bike moved forward was amazing. Usually he just sits on the tricycle as his feet can barely touch the pedals but today he was able to make one rotation. He continued to do it several more times but only one rotation. He would pedal, clap for himself, and then get off the bike and then get on the bike, pedal one rotation, clap for himself, and get off the bike….

"Hello...Hello..." - February 11, 2010 (20 Months)
My son was so excited when Daddy got home from work today that he sang the "Hello...Hello..." song and did the dance from our Fun Fit Tots class. We haven't been to class in several weeks due to the snow, so I'm surprised he even thought of it. It was definitely worth it to keep him up past bedtime so he could see Daddy. (Daddy's been working late this week...so he hasn't been able to always be home in time for bedtime.)

Tower of Cans - February 10, 2010 (20 Months)
Today when playing in the house it got quiet, which usually means my son is up to something. I couldn't see what he was doing at the moment, and this is what I found:

Cans
Needless to say I brought some blocks upstairs to play with. Although, I did like the creativity of using cans it's safer for both my son and my floors to play with blocks. It was a fun day playing inside (since we were stranded due to the snow storm) so we all stayed in our pajamas as you can see by the picture.

Elmo's Hugs - February 9, 2010 (20 Months)
Tonight when reading bedtime stories, we got the brand new book, called Elmo Loves Hugs! I explained that this was a book about hugs. Instinctively, my son would hug the book as we turned each page.

Making Valentines - February 8, 2010 (20 Months)
We made some Valentine's for family today and my son enjoyed putting the stickers right on top of each other, I think his record was six. He probably would have kept putting more on if I didn't keep giving him new hearts to add stickers to. Who says you are suppose to put the stickers all over the heart, it looks cool when you can barely see the stickers behind the other stickers.

Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star - February 7, 2010 (20 Months)
Listening to my son sing "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" while he was falling asleep made me smile.

Three Feet of Snow - February 6, 2010 (20 Months)
Playing in the snow is always a memory...especially when it is deeper than the height of your child. The picture is self explanatory.

Daddy built our son his first igloo tunnel...see some pictures.
What a wonderful day playing in the snow.
