Dinner at Home, Please - February 5, 2010 (20 Months)
We just got home from a nice dinner with friends but when you have a toddler sometimes it is just easier eating at home. My little guy is extremely social and he doesn't understand why he can't go around the restaurant greeting and talking to everyone. I think next time I'm going to invite friends over our house for spaghetti.

Boop Please - February 4, 2010 (20 Months)
At dinner, my son turned and said "Boop Please" for some more soup. I still think it is funny how he drinks his soup out of the bowl. He saw Mommy do that once awhile ago and has done it ever since. It is good because he actually finishes every last drop of the soup.

Snow - February 3, 2010 (20 Months)
Watching the snow plow was almost more fun than playing in the snow.

We got another 5 inches or so snow last night and so first thing after breakfast we went out to play. My son is finally really enjoying playing in the snow. The first snow he wasn't quite sure what to think of it but then again we did get about two feed of snow, please refer to the "Let It Snow" article.

We were on our way to the park when we saw the truck with the snow plow so of course we had to watch that. It was very exciting. Then we saw another little boy close to my son's age (later we found out he was 22 months) and my son and him played for about an hour together. The mother didn't speak much English so we didn't talk a lot just smiled at both the boys playing together. There's definitely a special mother bond that happens whether you can speak the same language or not.

1st Trip to the Dentist - February 2, 2010 (20 Months)
Today, we went to the dentist for the first time. It was a little traumatic for both of us...but we made it through. I wasn't expecting them to actually clean a 20 Month Year Old's teeth, I heard they usually count the teeth the first time.

Our hygienist took her job very seriously and even though my son was screaming and I asked if we could pass on the flossing (since his teeth are not touching) and I didn't think it was worth torturing him any longer she said "Oh no, we can't skip that!" So I had to continue restraining my son so she could properly floss his teeth. I loved the Dentist, she was very friendly too bad she wasn't the one cleaning my son's teeth.

All in all, my son seemed to survive the experience and even though I worried he would never let me bring a toothbrush near him again, the first thing he did when we woke up from his nap was pick up his toothbrush and brush his teeth.

Gym Daycare - February 1, 2010 (20 Months)
Today my son once again wasn't ready to go home after playing at the gym daycare...I guess I should workout longer.

Smell the Flowers - January 31, 2010 (20 Months)
My son smelled each tulip and then held up his stuffed puppy so he could smell too. Well, actually instead of smelling them he really blew air out of his nose. He use to smell the flowers but I think with all of the practice blowing bubbles and trying to teach him to blow out when swimming he got a little confused.

Watching It Snow - January 30, 2010 (20 Months)
Today my son pulled a chair across the room so he could sit by the sliding glass door and watch it snow.

Thankful for Cups - January 29, 2010 (20 Months)
Today while shopping at Whole Foods I was looking for some new cups for my son since he no longer needs a sippy cup but our everyday glass cups are too heavy for him to use. He probably heard me asking where I could find plastic cups for my son and when we finally found them soon as I picked them up he grabbed them and hugged them like they were his new best friend. He knew they were for him. He was not happy when I had to hand over the cups to pay for them. Who knew it would be so exciting to get new cups?

FYI: I really like the cups, they were made with 100% recyclable materials and also BPA free.

Underwater - January 28, 2010 (20 Months)
Today at swim class my son fell in the water and put his head completely under twice. He spit out the water and didn't seem phased by it. I'm glad he did it naturally as today was the day I was suppose to dunk him.

One More - January 27, 2010 (20 Months)

Today at nap time after I said we were finished reading books, my son looked me straight in the eyes and held up one finger. Of course, we read one more.

Story Time with Puppy - January 26, 2010 (20 Months)

At bedtime today, my son didn't seem ready to go to bed after we finished our daily routine of bath and reading stories. So I turned to him and asked if he wanted to read puppy a story in his crib. He nodded his head yes. I put him in his crib with his puppy and a small book and left the room. I heard him "reading" the story to puppy for a few minutes and then it was quiet.

Friends with a Moth - January 25, 2010 (20 Months)

Today at dinner time, my son saw a moth on the wall. He pointed it out to us and we explained what it was. My son was very interested in it so he was trying to give it a kiss. He then held out his arms real wide to give it a hug. He likes to be friends with everyone, no matter what or who you are.
